Recorded over a two-year period, the 10 tracks on Slow showcase singer-guitarist Tom Hunt’s penchant for crafting songs that resonate long after the fade-out, while also capturing the rich textures and wide sonic spectrum of the band’s diverse sound.

Slow was mixed by the band’s longtime recording engineer, Sal Mormando (Patti Smith, Richard Lloyd) at Kaleidoscope Sound Studios and mastered by Carl Saff at Saff Mastering.

About Pontoons:
Formed in 1991 by friends Tom Hunt and Mark Aznavourian, Pontoons are an indie-rock band originally from the New York City/Hoboken, New Jersey area. After early 4-track recordings garnered a small following due to the band’s quirky, low-fi pop sensibilities, the group evolved into a live trio consisting of Tom Hunt (vocals, guitar), bassist Tony Skutnik, and drummer Christian Harper, with Aznavourian leaving to pursue writing. This trio played together throughout the Northeast from 1993 until their last performance at CBGB on Valentine’s Day 1995. During this period the band produced one 7″ single, “Juncos and Robins” b/w “Back Again” that Billboardmagazine called “one of the best indie debuts of the year.” Hunt and Harper later recorded a follow-up 7″ single, “Landslide” b/w “The Other Side” with ex-Impossibles bass player Pamela Margid in early 1996. By 1997, the band had ceased playing, until a chance November 2009 meeting between Hunt and Harper re-ignited their interest in recording again as a duo and releasing a full-length album together.
